Glitterballs gliding, decks spinning, dance-shoes buzzing as I bring back the glamour and glitz of my Soho nightclub of the ‘90s with the re-opening of The Halyon, with a Studio 54 style launch night; moving the venue from Soho to Donegal for a sparkling new decade in 2020.
Doors swung open into the New Year with a launch event that drenched us in the glory disco days of the 70’s, when godfathers of epic disco music brought us a world of music wonder in clubland.
The fizz in our celebrations was supplied by D-Ream’s, Peter Cunnah, (yes, ‘Things Can Only Get Better’ was on his set list!), whilst I strutted my disco knee-high boots with a cover of Donna Summer’s ‘I Feel Love’. It’s almost 50 years since disco hit its peak, time to bring it back in full funkin’ harmony into the new decade.
